We are here to help you navigate the process of taking your idea for a book all the way to fully printed copy. While this isn't an extensive list, it will provide a map for you to know what to expect. Whether you are a first time author or a seasoned veteran, we are here to help you on your journey.
Cabin is a Christian publisher who offers free to low cost consulting for everyone whom we work with. During this time, we will perform an editorial assessment to determine the current state of your manuscript as well as scope of your project and establish what your overall goals are. This is the most critical stage of the publishing process.
Once initial planning is agreed upon, we then move to the manuscript process. This is the heart and soul of your project. Cabin in the Woods provides developmental editing to proof-reading and formatting and graphical design services to give your project a professional look and tone.
After you are satisfied with the manuscript, it is now time to submit for publishing. We use POD (print on demand) services such as KDP or Ingram Spark. Why do we use a third-party printer? Because a traditional offset printing can get expensive very quickly. And since we are here to help authors, we want them to maximize not only their time, but their profits. The only limitation to this method is all POD are only available in paperback.
Once your manuscript and cover are approved, you are now able to purchase author copies of your book. These copies are available to you, the author, at a fraction of the cost. Many times you get your copies at up to 80% off.
Along the way, if you are planning on launching a campaign, you will more than likely had the question, "How do I make sure people know about my book?" Once you have your manuscript finished, the tide of effort will now be focused into laying the groundwork for connections to get your book into the hands of reviewers and available for media interviews. We are building an extensive list of those necessary components to help give your book a great launch. It all comes down to you, your vision and your passion. You may have written the most amazing book ever, but if you do not tell people about it, how will they know?
It all comes down to this. Now that you have created the interest and demand for your book through marketing, it is time to go live. We have found that timing of all of these moving parts is crucial for a successful release date launch. We currently list with Amazon, which is the easiest and quickest way for you to make sure your title is available anywhere. This stage is where you begin to see your efforts translate into book sales and exposure.
As with anything, there is an initial surge of interest and purchases. But over time, that temporary high will dissipate if you are not keeping the momentum going. There is a fine line between being over-saturated and making sure your book is still getting the proper coverage to reach new audiences.
At the end of the project, we will meet with you to discuss your experience and talk about future plans. Our main goal at Cabin in the Woods is to not only help your book look the best it can or make sure you get proper exposure to the industry. Our main principle is to help you focus on what you do best: telling your story.
